Clarendon St and surroundings are a hub for social activity, lined and crossed with markets, cafes, restaurants in a position of thoroughfare for Melbourne. A slightly hidden dead end alleyway host Wynyard, adjoining neighbours Made In Japan (homeware and retail store), and European Wine Store. It acts as a courtyard – a reclusive spot and strangely comfortable and communal in such a central location – especially when one sits outside on the  crates and makeshift tables.

The coffee is from prominent Sydney roaster Single O, known for their distinct flavour profiles on both espresso and filter coffees. The venue is minimal, yet open; paintings line the wall along the exposed brick. They've done a great job not limiting the kitchen space and in return you get an intriguing menu, altering seasonally, along with sandwiches and baguettes in the cabinet. While inside can be quite cosy, it embodies character, and plays along with the open neighbourhood theme; there is an doorless walkway between Wynyard and Made in Japan. The homewares and ceramics store is also definitely worth a visit while you’re there.
