Pacific Social Club
Welcoming you with a shriner's fez and a wall of vintage vinyl sleeves, Pacific Social Club bills itself as a 'drop-out centre on the front-line of Clarence Road'. On my visit I found happy little kids sitting under chairs and skinny adults sitting above them. The atmosphere was weird and welcoming. "So, what's the story here?" I asked. "A cafe?" Nod. "A music library?" Nod. "Clothing boutique?" Nod. "So, just anything really." Another nod. A positive, well-rounded approach, and the coffee ain't bad. A nice little spot to drop-out for a while.
