77

77

77 is a charming little café sharing a space with Roots Retold, selling Fairtrade homewares and jewelry from co-operatives in India and South East Asia. This adds a stimulating visual dimension to what is already a fascinating interior in the former butcher’s shop. The space sits next to the Lighthouse studios and transforms into Brewer’s Bar in the evenings with craft beers and wines.

Aidan ensures that this is a friendly welcoming café with a simple food and drink offer done well. As he says, I'm seeking to provide a good quality neighbourhood café, not trying to conquer the world. Coffee is from Workshop and plans are afoot to add filter coffee soon. Workshop filters are available for retail.

Baked goods are from Luminary Bakery, a quite amazing social enterprise in East London, supporting vulnerable women and soft drinks are from Karma Cola who make delicious drinks and doing great things in Sierra Leone. Oh, there’s a great dog who lives in the café too!
